DJI Phantom 3 Pro Aerial View of Thea’s Park in Tacoma Washington in 4K

If you’ve seen yesterday’s post, you know this small park is about 2 miles away from the Museum of Flight.

It almost feels like a secret hideaway as most people pass by it, but I appreciate the fact I found this location. I feel I got some great footage from this park and got to practice my DJI Phantom Pro 3 flying skills.

I hope you’ve been enjoying some of my new aerial shots I’ve taken with this great drone by DJI.

Check out a different perspective of the Thea Foss Waterway in Tacoma – Aerial View in 4K

I spent the night out in Tacoma at two locations yesterday – Thea Foss Waterway and Thea’s Park. This is my first upload today using Google Wi-Fi at one of the local Starbucks that offers it.

If you’ve been to the area, you know that the Museum of Glass and the Union Station are popular landmarks in the area, check them out in a different perspective.

This was shot using the DJI Phantom 3 Pro in 4K. I am loving this drone so much it hurts me when the battery runs out! Luckily I’ve got an extra battery on order, it should arrive soon.

Some experiences shooting near here with a drone. The security guards for the Museum of Glass asked that I not shoot near the arts. I agree with them, anyone flying a drone should be aware of their surroundings and respect the wishes of the property owners. I still got the shots I wanted, though it does not include some shots I wanted a close-up of. I wanted to fly up with the drone facing the cone shaped dome, sort of Star Wars flythrough of the battleship like scene.

If I had extra battery life, I would have stayed and done a scene of the Tacoma Dome and the Lemay Museum, I’ll have to save that for another time I am nearby Tacoma.

Flying the DJI Phantom Pro over Weyerhaeuser’s Headquarters Office in 4K Resolution

Weyerhaeuser sold their headquarters recently and I’m not sure what that entails for their Bonsai park/arboretum but I hope it will be maintained. The park is a nice place and I know a lot of people like¬†to exercise¬†here.

I meant to get a memorable picture of the wonderful building that is/was the Weyerhaeuser’s HQ, however, during the flight, the only thought running through my head was “Don’t crash the drone”. I realized on my way home that I forgot to take an aerial picture of the HQ!

If you ever have drive through Federal Way, on the east side of I-5, you’ll pass by their old hq.

The video was shot using DJI Phantom 3 Pro which has a 4k camera attached to it. I can say that I love this system! It’ll take some practice for me to work on my scrolling technique for the camera movement. I also need to practice flying at a certain pace to avoid showing the propeller guards or the landing gear.

Wow, I don’t mind having a Phantom hovering over me – that is a DJI Phantom 3 Pro

I recently got myself the DJI Phantom 3 Pro and it is simply an amazing quadcopter! I’ve reviewed the Xtreem Quadcopter which is actually a Syma quadcopter branded by Swann, go figure. Xtreem Quadcopter review below.

Now, I’ve got myself a DJI Phantom 3 Pro (the quad with the 4k camera) to play with and it is a beauty to play with. I’ll have more stuff coming up but you can check out these teasers below.

or this one.

Let’s just say, comparing a cheap quadcopter to this expensive quadcopter is … stupid. While the DJI is still a quad it’s an expensive toy but a serious user can do some wonderful things with the quad and the 4k camera!

It’s best to practice with something like the Syma/Xtreem quadcopter before you play with the more expensive quads.

I’ve been practicing with the DJI Phantom almost everyday this week and I am still weary about flying it out too far or flying a bit too fast. It definitely handles a lot better than the Xtreem/Syma but being familiarized with the handling has helped with flying the Phantom.
