It’s been a long time since I’ve ridden a skateboard and nostalgia hit me as I saw my skateboard hanging on the garage wall.
The pro skaters I remember from back than were real stars and innovators who I feel brought out the insane tricks we know and love so well today. Skaters Christian Hosoi, Tony Hawk, Stacy Peralta, and my favorite Steve Caballero.
I took it out to a local school, back in April, it’s like riding a bike; you never forget. Part of the fun of skateboarding was doing Kick Turns to move – like shredding a wave.
Its not the fastest way but it sure brought back memories of skating with my friends back in Cali (California). Best memories I had of taking the bus after school with the friends to a mini storm drain that only a few of us knew about. It was out of the way and no longer in use and surprisingly was in great shape. We would stay at the storm drain till sunset as there were no lights in the area, catch a bus and go our separate ways till the next day and repeat the fun
Its been a while and I can’t remember the exact location but I want to say its close to Rosemead Blvd and Whittier Blvd. For you skaters, this might be the best treasure hunt for the new generation, or it could be demolished and turned into another suburban housing area.
