I love this location and wanted to share this great park overlooking Lake Washington and the I-90 Bridge. Testing and reviewing the DJI Osmo Mobile at the East Portal Viewpoint Park overlooking the I-90 bridge towards Bellevue, Wa. felt like the right place to do this testing and review.
My back was killing me when I did this and I was sort of hobbling/walking like the Hunchback of Notre Dame. It was amazing and I was surprised to see how well the Osmo Mobile stabilized the movement.
The Osmo Mobile will use the best camera setting available for recording, you won’t be able to select the camera setting that the phone can record in. The Letv X500 can record in 4k utilizing the H.265 format. However, the DJI Osmo Mobile does not recognize it and set the camera at 1080 HD setting. (I’m hoping they will update the firmware in the future.) Looking at the properties for the video, I noticed that it recorded it at 1280×720. The video was upscaled in Adobe Premiere to 1080 for the video. My mistake in setting it up at 720 instead of 1080 – again, 4k option was not available for the Letv X500.
Anyhoo, if you’ve seen the prior posts here, you know that I purchased the DJI Osmo Mobile because of the moving time-lapse feature! I love it. The video above had the time-lapse from this location in the beginning and I have one at the end of the video of the port in Seattle.
